Purpose
The following steps provide guidance for connecting Android and Apple devices to the CWI-Student Wi-Fi network. Following these instructions ensures proper authentication with a CWI username and password, allowing secure access to the Internet on campus.
Process
Android (most phones and Tablets):
1. From your phone, navigate to the Settings app. Select “Network and Internet” and/or “Wi-Fi”. Tap the “CWI-Student” network that appears.
2. Once connected, it should automatically open to the login and certificate selection screen.
3. Sign in with your CWI Username and Password, making sure you use only your first and last name NOT the full email address. For the Certificate, ensure TOFU (Trust on first use) is selected.
4. Once you attempt to connect, it will give a notification that you will tap to verify the network.
5. Once there, review the information and ensure the server name is *.cwi.edu. Once you have, simply tap Yes, Connect.
6. Once that is complete, you'll be connected to CWI-Student.

Apple (iPhones and Tablets):
1. Open your settings and navigate to your WiFi settings. Select the network CWI-Public.
2. After selecting CWI-Student WiFi, a window should pop up and prompt you to sign in with your CWI Username and Password. Make sure you use only your first and last name NOT the full email address.
3. After clicking the blue check mark, it will ask you to verify and trust the certificate. Once you've verified that it is *.cwi.edu, tap trust.
4. Once that's done, you will be connected to CWI-Student.
