Students - How to Set Up Your FAFSA Refund Using Refund Selection

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to guide CWI students through the process of setting up their financial aid refund preference using RefundSelection and BankMobile, ensuring accurate account setup, successful delivery of refunds, and clear direction for resolving common issues or obtaining additional support.

 

 

Process

Make sure you have the following: Your CWI Student ID number, Access to your CWI email account, A computer or mobile device with Internet access

  1. Open a web browser and go to https://refundselection.com.

  3. If prompted for a personal code and you do not have one, fill in the required fields under I Need a Code.

  4. Enter the required information, including:

    • The organization name: College of Western Idaho

    • Your CWI Student ID number

    • Your CWI email address

  5. Submit the request.

  6. Log in to your CWI email at https://outlook.office.com.

  7. Access your CWI email inbox.

  8. Locate the email from Refund Selection containing your personal code.

    • Check your spam or junk folder if you do not see it in your inbox.

  9. Return to https://refundselection.com and enter the personal code.

  10. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your refund preference.

 

What Happens After You Enter Your Personal Code

After you successfully enter your personal code and select a refund preference, you will be redirected to BankMobile.

  • You will be prompted to either create a new BankMobile account or log in to an existing one.

  • BankMobile is used to manage, view, and track your financial aid refunds.

  • During BankMobile setup, you will create login credentials and confirm your refund delivery method.

  • Once setup is complete, future eligible refunds will be processed automatically using your selected preference.

If you previously had a BankMobile account with another institution, you may be prompted to link that existing account instead of creating a new one.

 

Common Issues and Tips

If you receive an error message stating that your request cannot be processed, try the following:

  • Re-enter the information carefully to ensure there are no typos.

  • Use a different browser or an incognito/private window.

  • Avoid autofill when entering your information.

  • Make sure you are using your CWI email address, not a personal email.
