Course Not Showing in Blackboard

Steps-to-Take:

1. It is important to know that a majority of classes will not show up on Blackboard until the first day of class at 8:00 am. Instructors may choose if they would like to open that course to students a couple days early, but that it a courtesy and they are not required to do so.

NOTE:
You can always double check that you are enrolled in your class through your MyCWI schedule if you are having doubts about being properly enrolled in your class. To do this you will go to my.cwi.edu and log in. Under SELF-SERVICE TOOLKIT you will click on “Student Planning”, and then click on ‘Go to Plan & Schedule’.

Make sure you are viewing the correct semester and you should see a check mark and registered on the class.

2. If it is the first day of classes and you still cannot see your course, contact your instructor to make sure the course has been opened for students and that you are on their roster of students. To view your instructor’s email, you will want to go into Plan & Schedule the same way as above and click on the class that is missing for you in blackboard. This will bring up the Section Details. Next to the Instructors Section will be your instructors name as well as their email. Instructors email will end in @cwi.edu. You can locate the instructors email address in the CWI online directory.

3. If your instructor responds that they have made the class viewable to students and you are on their roster but still cannot view the class, you will need to submit a ticket with the Help Desk so we can attempt to resolve this issue for you. You can find that contact info under IT Help on your MyCWI main page.
