Below, are the instructions for the most commonly used browsers to ensure the forms work correctly. Please keep in mind that if you are running an older version of Adobe or your internet browser, you will likely experience compatibility issues.
For best results, always update your browser and Adobe when prompted.
Once you make this change to your browser setting the fillable PDF forms will open automatically.
Steps-to-Take:
GOOGLE CHROME
To begin, click the three horizontal dots under the X at the top right side of the browser window.
From this, hover over Extensions, and click on Manage Extensions.
If you have the Adobe Acrobat extension here, and the slider is off, click it to turn on the extension.
If you do not see the extension here, click on the underlined Chrome Web Store at the top left of your browser window under Keyboard shortcuts.
In the search bar at the top, search for Adobe Acrobat, and click on the Extension that pops up.
Click on Add to Chrome.
Click on Add extension.
MICROSOFT EDGE
To begin, click the three horizontal dots under the X at the top right side of the browser window.
From this, click on Extensions.
If you do see Adobe Acrobat, ensure the slider button next to it is selected.
If you do not see Adobe Acrobat, click on Get extensions for Microsoft Edge.
Search for Adobe Acrobat in the search bar.
Click on Get next to Adobe Acrobat.
Click on Add extension.
After adding the extension, attempt to open your PDF once more in the browser, and it should allow you to edit that file.
MOZILLA FIREFOX
To begin with, open a Firefox Browser page, and click on the 3 stacked bars at the top right of the browser, under the X.
Next, click on settings. This is likely near the bottom of your screen.
Inside the General tab, scroll down until you find the "Files and Applications" section.
Inside the Applications, find Portable Document Format (PDF) under Content Type.
To the right of that, under the Action column, if it doesn't say Use Adobe Acrobat, click on the action it shows, and find Use Adobe Acrobat.
If that doesn't show in this menu, click on Use Other... as shown in the screenshot below.
If Adobe Acrobat shows up, select that, and click Okay.
If it does not, click Browse.
From this screen, Double-click
on Adobe.
Double-click
on Acrobat DC.
Double-click
on Acrobat.
Then scroll down to find Acrobat.
Select Acrobat, and click Open.
It should now show Use Adobe Acrobat in your Applications menu here next to Portable Document Format (PDF).
Go back to the form you wish to download in Firefox, and download it, or select the Save icon, like so.
This will download the document and open it in Adobe Acrobat inside of the browser window.
You can then use the Print option in Adobe Acrobat after filling out the PDF form.
From the Print menu, you can go to the printer selection, and select Microsoft Print to PDF to print any changes you have made to the document to a new PDF form.
Print the document after selecting this, and save the new file under what name and/or drive you would like to.
