Purpose

  • The purpose of this document is to provide login instructions for accessing Microsoft Copilot at CWI.

Overview

  • All CWI staff, faculty, and students have free access to Microsoft Copilot, a Generative AI tool that ensures your data remains private when you are logged in with your CWI account.
  • Important: Never enter students’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII) into any AI tool, including Copilot.

Method One

  •  Input CWI email address

  • A redirect will prompt for account password

  • Then a prompt for MFA authentication. Method may vary. The screenshot below shows Authenticator App utilization.

  • Once authenticated, the account will login.

 

Method Two

  1. Accessing Microsoft Copilot:

    • Log in to your CWI account.
    • Open the Microsoft Edge browser.
    • Click on the Copilot icon located in the browser.
  2. Verify Your CWI Account:

    • A new tab will open. Confirm that your name appears in the upper right corner of the window.
    • This ensures that Enterprise data protection is applied to your session.
  3. Start Using Copilot:

    • Begin a new chat by typing into the chat interface.
    • Confirm that your conversation is protected by looking for the green shield icon near the top right of the window.
       
  4. Note: Students must always adhere to the terms of their class syllabuses and the academic code of honesty when using AI.
