Here are instructions for the most commonly used browsers to ensure the forms work correctly. Please keep in mind that if you are running an older version of Adobe or your internet browser, you will likely experience compatibility issues.
For best results, always update your browser and Adobe when prompted.
Once you make this change to your browser setting the fillable PDF forms will open automatically.
Steps-to-Take:
Mozilla Firefox
Open a new session in Firefox. Click on the “Firefox” menu in the upper right‐hand corner of the window. Under “Options” select “open options”
In the “Options” menu on the “General” tab, scroll down until you see “Applications”. Then, scroll down to “Portable Document Format (PDF).” If it reads, “Preview in Firefox,” that means that you will need to change the setting in order to complete fillable PDFs.
In the drop-down menu, select “Use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.” Close out of your browser window and reopen Firefox to implement the change.
CHROME
Open a new session in Chrome. When you have located the form, you would like to fill-in, select “Download Adobe PDF.” Once the document has been downloaded, the fillable functions should work. Chrome does not have a solution for completing fillable pdf forms on the Chrome browser.
Check to see if the blue slider button is selected for Adobe Acrobat. If not, slide it over. Close out of your browser window and reopen Chrome to implement the change. Please note that this will open the pdf form on your desktop. Currently, Chrome does not have the capacity to handle forms as other browsers do.
INTERNET EXPLORER
PDF forms work as intended in Internet Explorer. This browser will be obsolete and removed from use soon.
