If you need software installed on your workstation, you’ll first need to verify if it is on the CWI Authorized Software list. If it is, you can request its installation through a simple process. If it’s not listed or is on theUnauthorized Software list, a new request must be submitted.
Steps to Request Software Installation
-
Check the CWI Software List
Visit the CWI Software List and review the authorized software available. The list also includes approved browser extensions.
- If the software you need is on the list, proceed to request its installation (see Step 2).
- If the software is not listed or appears on the Unauthorized Software list, the request must go through an approval process (see Step 3).
-
Request Installation of Authorized Software
If your software is on the Authorized Software list, have your manager submit a ticket on your behalf:
- Go to CWI Helpdesk.
- Select Request Type: Software > Request.
- Enter all relevant information, including the cost center code if there’s a cost associated (indicated by an asterisk on the Authorized Software list).
- After submission, IT will review the ticket and contact you with further details.
-
Request New Software (Not Authorized)
If the software is not on the Authorized Software list or if it’s on the Unauthorized list and you’d like it reconsidered:
- Work with your manager and Solution Owner to open a request in VersionOne.
- Detailed information on the new software request process is available at the CWI Software List link.
