Everyone - Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Problems on Apple Devices

Steps-to-Take:

1. Locate System Preferences either in the Dock, under Applications or by using Spotlight Search.

2. In System Preferences, Open Network.

3. Under the Network settings, Select Wi-Fi in the left-hand column and on the right hand side of the window click on the Advanced… button.

4. Under Advanced, under Preferred Networks, select CWI-PUBLIC.

5. When the network is selected, click on the “-“ button and it will remove the network from your list of preferred networks.

6. Once the network is no longer listed under the Preferred Networks, it may be necessary to cycle the systems Wi-Fi on and off. To do so, locate the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar.

7. Click on the Wi-Fi icon and then select “Turn Wi-Fi Off”.

8. The signal strength bars in the Wi-Fi icon will now be gone signifying that the Wi-Fi is now Off.

9. Click on the Wi-Fi icon again select “Turn Wi-Fi On”.

10. If the box to connect to CWI-PUBLIC does not appear, click the Wi-Fi icon again and select which network they would like to connect to. The user should then see the box prompting for credentials. Students need to use their Blackboard user name and password.

11. Once they have entered their credentials, they should receive a message of “success”. If the box for credentials reappears, they have entered their username and/or password incorrectly.
